March 31, 2012 Ride #22
Mid afternoon, mild, ride with son. Pieces of his bike were falling off as we went. Time for a new bike!

March 28, 2012 Ride #21 520 miles year-to-date
Mid day, upper 70s, terrible wind out of the northwest. Removing rusted tanks from the shore at the lake at Trueblood.

March 23, 2012 Ride #19
33 miles, upper 60s, partly sunny. For years I've ridden through this underpass just fine--even in the dark. Twice this year I have busted my shoulder on that chipped corner. The bridge must be sinking.

March 19, 2012 Ride #17 416 miles year-to-date
Morning ride, mid 70s, cloudy giving way to sun. Windy from the south. Stopped to take a picture of geese and then looked up.

March 15, 2012 Ride #15
Late afternoon, 80 degrees. A boy ran to the curb and enthusiastically shouted across the street "Hi!" to me. I waved back. As I passed by, he then yelled, "Don't go swimming!" What to make of that...

March 14, 2012 Ride #14
Lower 70s, overcast, windy. Road to ACT to see Mary at lunch time. The block of marble says, "The Table," and that's a container of orange rinds on the arm of the bench.

March 9, 2012 Ride #12
Lower 40s, sunny, calm. Corn on the path beneath the railroad.
Two men were on the bike path in the woods down in Trueblood park. Both were looking off into the woods to the right, toward the Iowa river--one more intently then the other. As I passed by, the one standing next to the upside down bike in the middle of the path, holding a beer in his hand, was snapping at the other, "I didn't throw it; I'm the one trying to fix your @#$%^&* bike."

March 5, 2912 Ride #9
Mid 30s, sunny, frozen toes and fingers. Tomorrow it will be twice as warn and I shall bike in shorts if I can get out.

March 1, 2012 Ride #8
Johnson County Courthouse. Mid 40's. Hazy sun. It's nice when weather and schedule match up for a ride.
